Jolie Goodnight Brass House Residency
Cabaret star brings showgirl jazz to downtown Austin.
Jolie Goodnight, the performer Michael Simmons of MOJO Magazine calls “…a tender voice that could melt a stone heart” will begin her residency at the Brass House. Bringing the show to downtown Austin, Jolie Goodnight and Her Jazz Band will be live in a cabaret concert June 6th at 8:00pm in the Brass House Ballroom at 115 San Jacinto Boulevard Austin, TX. Tickets $8 available at the door.
In love with the beauty of an era gone by, Goodnight’s show drips of nostalgia with songs and humor in lieu of the World War II era, when swing and jazz permeated smoky cabaret rooms.
Backed by her Jazz Band (a rotating cast of musicians and special guests) Goodnight will perform songs from her highly acclaimed album “Say Goodnight Gracey” in addition to dirty blues and other favorites. Goodnight’s show is a fresh and modern nod to cabaret shows of the past “…steamy and seductive in a lovably old fashioned way” writes Wayne Bledsoe Knoxville News Sentinel.
Goodnight’s shows and debut album have received glowing reviews nationally and abroad including Something Else! Reviews, which described Goodnight as “exactly the kind of voice us vocal jazz lovers hope to hear from the new generation.” (Esther Berlanga-Ryan.) Kevin Bryan of The North Devon Journal concurred stating “…musical nostalgia showcasing her seductive versions of timeless standards.”
